Editorial Assistant to the
Chairman of the Surgery Department, University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Her articles, book reviews, and features have appeared in Towards, The
Journal for Anthroposophy, The University Bookman, The St. Croix Review,
Birmingham Weekly, and miscellaneous other publications. She is the
author as well of three books,
Instead of Eyes, 1979. Poems on
Biblical themes, published by the author at Hawthorne Press, Lenox,
Massachusetts; The Thoroughbred Colt: Identity and Moral Will in a Southern
Family, 1999; and Consecrated Venom: The Serpent and the Tree of
Knowledge, forthcoming from Floris Books, Edinburgh, in the spring
of 2000. She has been reading Barfield since the early 1970s, when
she discovered Poetic Diction
in a bookstore in Virginia.
