James Hillman
(1926- )
American archetypal psychologist and cultural critic, one-time director of the
C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland; author of The Myth of Analysis
(1972), Re-Visioning Psychology (1975), The Dream and the Underworld (1979),
Inter Views (1983), Healing Fiction (1983), A Blue Fire
(1989), (with Michael Ventura) We've Had a Hundred Years of Psychotherapy and
the World's Getting Worse (1992),The Soul's Code (1997), and The
Force of Character (1999). In a conversation with David
Lavery, Hillman called Barfield's "one of the most neglected important
thinkers of the 20th Century."
