The co-conveners of Lost: The Conference, an international scholarly/critical gathering on LOST, to be held In New Orleans, October 6-8, 2011, seek to learn of your interest in attending and solicit your proposals for papers. Go here to learn more.
We welcome proposals of 200-300 words (or an abstract of a completed paper) on any aspect of the ABC television series, which ended its six season run in May 2010. We invite presentations from the perspective of any discipline. Discussions of the text, the social context, the audience, the producers, the production, and more are all appropriate. Go here to see a list of possible topics: http://davidlavery.net/Lost/Lost_Topics.htm. All proposals/abstracts should demonstrate familiarity with already-published scholarship in the field. Papers are limited to a maximum reading time of 20 minutes. Submissions by undergraduates and graduate students are welcome; however, undergraduate students should provide the name, email, and phone number of a faculty member willing to sponsor them (the faculty member does not need to attend). Submission of prearranged, complete sessions with multiple presenters are welcome and encouraged. A proposal form (in Word) can be found here. Fill it out and send it to lostconference@gmail.com.
