Vonda N. McIntyre, born in 1948, began publishing in the early seventies and in 1973 won the Nebula Award for "Of Mist, and Grass, and Sand." The expanded version of this classic story, Dreamsnake (1978), won both the Nebula and Hugo for best novel. Recently she has been writing Starfarers, a four-book series, the last of which will come out in 1993 Her short fiction was collected in Fireflood and Other Stories (1979)· She lives in Seattle. Has foster-cat.
