Theodore Sturgeon
(1918-1985) was writing stories of considerable stylistic elegance
and psychological subtlety long before most readers of science fiction
could hope for more than good plotting and invention, which he also supplied.
Among his best stories are "Thunder and Roses" (1947), 'A Saucer of Loneliness"
(1953), and "Slow Sculpture" (1970)· Some of the best known of his
novels are The Dreaming Jewels (1959),
More Than Human (1953),
and Venus Plus X (1960). His innovative fiction was rewarded with
many prizes, including the Nebula, Hugo, and International Fantasy Awards. |
