Robert Sheckley, born in 1928, lives in Portland, Oregon; he published his first story in 1952. Best known as a short-story writer and humorist, he won the Jupiter Award with "Suppliant in Space." His collections include Can You Feel Anything When I Do This (197')1 and among his novels are The Status Civilization (1960) and Options (1975).
