Octavia Butler, born
in 1947, published her first science-fiction story in 1971· She
won the Hugo Award in 1984 for "Speech Sounds," and the Nebula and Hugo
Awards for the novella Blood Child in 1985 Her novels include Wild
Seed (1980) and the Xenogenesis
trilogy. She lives in Los Angeles. She died in 2006. |
