Joe Haldeman was born in 1943 and divides his time between Gainesville, Florida, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he teaches at MIT. After service in Viet Nam he became a full-time writer and since 1977 has published stories, poems, Star Trek novels, adventure novels, and the story collections Infnite Dreams (1978) and Dealing in Futures (1985); his science-fiction novels include Mindbridge (1976), Worlds Enough and Time (1992), and the Hugo and Nebula-winning Forever War (1974).
