Greg Bear, born in 1951 came to prominence in the late seventies. He is a multiple winner of Nebula and Hugo Awards; some of his stories are collected in Tangents (1989); his novels include The Forge of God (1987) Eon (1985), and Blood Music (1985). He lives in Seattle.
