Hudson, Lump (The Ladykillers), a former football player known for his toughness and dim wits.

After Gawain shoots himself on accident during a fight with Pancake over whether or not he was a coward for not wanting to shoot Marva Munson, the elderly woman whose house they are staying in, Lump and the General dump his body off a bridge and onto a passing garbage barge which gives the audience some foreshadowing of a scene at the end of the movie involving a cat and a finger.

Lump originally refers to con artist Professor Dorr as “Coach,” but hardly ever says much else.  Based off his suggestion to Dorr about giving the money back to the casino however, it could be inferred Lump Hudson is the only member of this crew with any semblance of a moral compass.

Not wanting “to harm a nice old lady,” Lump decides to take matters into his own hands and turn the gun on Dorr who wants her dead.  Unfortunately for Lump, he doesn’t realize Dorr intentionally left a chamber empty in the gun.  When Lump pulls the trigger to no avail, he stupidly looks down the barrel, pulls the trigger again and shoots himself dead thus confirming the notion Dorr is able to foresee Lump’s every thought and action.
