Gunderson, Norm (Fargo). A loving, devoted
husband
who is eagerly awaiting the birth of his first child. His wife, Marge Gunderson, is the Police Chief. He is a wildlife artist vying to have
his work selected to be used on a postage stamp. He doubts his self-worth and when his picture of a Mallard
is selected to go on the three-cent stamp, he sees it as a failure rather than
accomplishment. Marge reassures
him that the three-cent stamp is very important when the price of postage goes
up.
Played by John Carroll Lynch, this small, yet endearing role earned Lynch
critical acclaim. He followed up Fargo with filming two more films that
same year, and, conveniently enough, they were both filmed in Minnesota.—Josh Ginsburg
