John Lukacs  (1923- )
Hungarian-born historian, the author of such books as Budapest 1900: A Historical Portrait of a City and Its Culture, The Hitler of History, Historical Consciousness: The Remembered Past, and Decline and Rise of Europe: A Study in Recent History, with Particular Emphasis on the Development of a European Consciousness, and  A Thread of Years. A participant in the Barfield Centenary, where he spoke of Barfield's great influence on his own work.
